Man accused of stealing weapons from crime scene is arrested

Detroit, (WJBK - On November 21st, 38-year old male suspect, Lloyd Love, was taken into custody by Detroit Police months after the crime. 

Back on June 4th, an off-duty officer was wounded in an exchange of gunfire during an attempted robbery by a 22-year old male suspect. 

The male suspect was fatally wounded and the officer sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds to the body. Upon the officer collapsing to the ground, Love, pulled up to the location in a black Ford Fusion. 

Shortly after exiting his vehicle, Mr. Love, approached the off-duty officer and the deceased suspect, took their weapons and fled. 

A thorough investigation was conducted by the Detroit Police Department. Mr. Love was identified, located and arrested on the afternoon of November 21, 2017 without incident by Detroit Police in the city of Southfield.

 Mr. Love was charged with Larceny from Person, Felony in Possession, Habitual Offender-Fourth Offense, 2 Counts of Weapons-Firearms-Larceny, and 4 counts of Felony Firearm.
