Man accused of threatening to blow up mother in law's house

- A man is arrested after making death threats against his mother in law. She says he threatened to blow up her house with her grandchildren inside.

Federal court documents show Billy Street allegedly sent threatening text messages to his former mother-in-law, threatening to blow her up, her grandkids and his own child, 10 years old, who lived there.

A metallic pipe taped to an electrical device, otherwise known as a pipe bomb. Plus, a cylindrical object wrapped in black electrical tape a nine-volt battery maybe attached.

Federal authorities say these were sent to a grandma by the man she used to call her son-in-law.

Court documents show on Nov. 3, Street bought a ticket to Myrtle Beach - but he never made the flight.  Airport police got him and put him behind bars.

Street's mom said authorities did recover a bomb hidden in her home.

"My son has been threatening a lot of things for years and he never does anything," said Billy Street's mother.

She says before her son allegedly sent threats to the mother of his first wife, she didn't even recognize him.

"He came downstairs and he said mom why would they want to do this to me, he was crying," she said. "And he snapped. And when he snapped, he really snapped."

Text messages saying "You, your grandmother and your daughter are going to die, your grandkids too.

"I'm putting this dynamite under your pillow."

Street's mom says he's bi-polar and has made threats before but nothing like this.

"He just gets into the moods and it will last for days," she said.

She's hoping people will get their loved ones help if they start to make threats.

"Please don't hesitate when your son acts crazy or defiant, please get them help," she said.
