WATCH: Red Wings agree with Athanasiou on deal

- The Detroit Red Wings announced Friday they have agreed in principle on a one-year deal with forward Andreas Athanasiou.

Athanasiou, 23, has played in 101 career NHL games with 27 goals and 16 assists.  Last season the Canadian native had 18 goals and 11 assists in 64 games.  Athanasiou has been skating in Switzerland and will be integrated back with the team in the next few days & weeks  Once he signs his deal, the Red Wings will have to make a roster move due to their cap situation.  Athanasiou will be a restricted free agent following this season.
